The Lower Danube Survey (LoDanS) Paleolithic Project is an international research project aimed at identifying the extent of the Paleolithic occupation of the region, with a particular emphasis on colonization events. We are particularly interested in a multidisciplinary approach which emphasizes archaeological survey based on paleogeographic and paleoenvironmental reconstructions and supported by associated geological projects. The project is funded by the Max-Planck-Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, Leipzig, Germany, and is undertaken in cooperation with the Römisch-Germanisches Zentralmuseum (RGZM) in Mainz, Germany, and the Institute of Archaeology «Vasile Pârvan» of the Romanian Academy of Science. Das Lower Danube Survey (LoDanS) Forschungsprojekt verfolgt als Hauptziel die Untersuchung paläolithischer Siedlungssysteme im Niederdonaugebiet. Unser Projekt wurde 2010-2011 durch das Max Planck Institut für Evolutionäre Anthropologie in Leipzig gefordert, in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Römisch-Germanischen Zentralmuseum in Mainz (RGZM) und der Rumänischen Akademie der Wissenschaften. Proiectul de cercetare „Lower Danube Survey” (LoDanS) are ca obiectiv principal decoperirea și sondarea mai multor așezări paleolitice în regiunea Dunării de Jos. Proiectul nostru a fost finanțat în perioada 2010-2011 de Institutul „Max Planck” pentru antropologie evoluționistă din Leipzig, și este realizat în cooperare cu Muzeul Central Romano-Germanic din Mainz (RGZM) și cu Institutele de Arheologie și Speologie ale Academiei Române.
